The Old Settlers Reunion Association Scholarship for 2015 has been awarded to Isaac Hughes. Isaac is a 2015 graduate of Big Rapids High school. He is will be a student at Ferris State University in the fall of 2015.

Dear OSRA Scholarship Committee

Graduating from high school was a huge accomplishment for me, but now my next goal is to graduate from college and to excel at it. This scholarship means so much to me because books cost a small fortune and with this scholarship I will be able to pay for my books without taking out student loans! Everyone knows that loans are hard to pay off, so my goal is to be able to minimize college student debt. I plan to give back to the O.S.R.A by organizing a bowl-a-thon at preferably the Remus bowling ally (or possibly a Grand Rapids bowling ally) to help raise money for the School Section Lake pavilion restoration project. I will also write a newsletter article and create a Facebook event about the bowl-a-thon to market the event. I’m very honored and thankful to be the recipient of this great award from my amazing family!
